About Damien

me at Mark's house (Mark is Joseli's friend)
born Sunday, February 28, 1988, Damien, me, I, am a blind individual with a battered personality. Well, just put it, I have ADHD and Asperger's Syndrome. Don't worry, I don't bite, I'm not dangerous, I'm just honest. OK? Right.
Brought up by my mum, I attended some sort of life at primary school, hardly a life as to what my brother Matthew's leading right now, but we won't go there, after which I was taken to boarding school in Worcester, England, UK, near Birmingham, and learned to take my computing and musical abilities to their full potential.
Eight years at that place, building up my confidence, trying to convince me that my life is worth it, well, you are all so right. Now, with just about 25 people supporting me all the way with this site, I think we have it going.
I started using Visual Basic 6 for my program since round February. I was previously taught it but had no manuals or other vb using friends back then, so I'm glad I've got a few people helping me out now.
I am also currently working on learning c++, thanks to
James Bowden who comes and visits me in this place, and supports me through the tough stages until I can get to america to live with my girlfriend.
In 2004 I did some work experience at the Old Smithy recording studio in Kempsey, recording radio jingles, commercial beds and background music, sending commercials to radio stations using ISDN machines, etc.
In 2005 I took a different approach, working for the technicians at the college for a week. Apparently I was a help to all during that time, developing speech-switching software, autoinstallation/registration software, installing windows and speech on various machines, learning about computer hardware and learning about how the college network is run.
Recently I dismantled an already knackered CD-ROM drive, got myself very messy (YUCK!!!!!!), but found very interesting little things, like the two supports that the laser moves across, the motor that spins the cd and links the spinning part with the laser's movement, etc.
On July 7, 2007, I left New College, and started the Royal National College for the Blind in Hereford on September 3. During the time in between, I visited my girlfriend in America, and had a very good time.
Ok I may be a rather weird individual, but in a good way.

About X-Sight

X-Sight Interactive started out by Damien Sadler and Alex Barnes coming up with one game back in July 2005. It was originally called DCS Productions and consisted of Damien and his best friend Alex. These two started developing small pieces of software that were fun and made life a lot easier to do certain tasks using a computer, especially for the visually impaired. Damien and Alex are visually impaired themselves, you see.
Then, many people who studied at the RNIB New College, Worcester, England, UK, then decided to join. Since then the newly formed DAC Productions came across a guy on IRC called Michael Forzano who decided he wanted to merge with his company, Quag (quality audio games), consisting of him and his mate Vincent Rikotta. so DAC Productions and Quag merged to form X-Sight Interactive. However, after a series of disagreements between the site hoster and the company itself, we recreated a new atmosphere and Damien got his own X-Sight site for everybody, with no copies of other already-made software, no copied games or source code, and original materials except where otherwise specified. This was launched may 2006.
In August 2006, Michael rejoined X-Sight and showed a new-found enthusiasm for the Bomb Blaster project, before it had to fall down because of COMAudio problems that soon developed on the main system.
In October 2006, X-Sight gets shaped up finally with Joseli Walter replacing Alex Barnes as deputy manager and organiser. Whereas before, hardly anything got done in time, her role in this ensures a smooth running of this company.
In December 2006 we welcomed Munawar Bijani into X-Sight Interactive who tried his very best with the incompetent group to play the part of Software Development Manager, but due to the inactivity and inaccuracy of the group, and his dissatisfaction with it, he left in mid-January 2007.
In January 2007, X-Sight took a more professional approach, thanks to the encouragement of Munawar, and Joseli and Munawar's cooperation. Our musical logo is being redesigned by Kelly Sapergia, we now have application forms for people who want to join, a private mailing list for members only, a policy for all members to follow, the site will be shortly redesigned.
Also in January 2007, I got a new system, which i am proud of. Now ComAudio is working properly again, after some initial registry problems, this has been fixed in February, and all has returned to a sense of normalcy.
In early February 2007, we welcome a new member, Louis Bryant, formerly BrailleSoft.net. He sounds a very promising recruit.
In late February, 2007, we welcome Tamas Géczy who will be working alongside Louis as his deputy.
Also in February, I started to learn vb, which means that COMAudio will be replaced with other audio libraries such as Direct Sound, Direct Show, Bass, FMod and the new library coming out called PB Streamway, thanks Philip!
In march, Bomb Blaster was rewritten, but there are a lot of bugs that need to be fixed, so Bomb Blaster is being rewritten once PB Streamway comes out.
The site logo was completed in mid April, and the site will be rearranged by the end of the year.
In August 2007, we have now got our own domain, as well as webhosting. Expensive, but worth it overall.
We are proud to present you with this site.
