A Library of Updates.
We have a lot to get through here.
Acefire:
Acefire is very nearly completed. Just a few little tweaks, and it will be ready for all!
Audio repository:
We are also thinking of setting up an audio repository. Like YouTube is for video, we are thinking of setting ours up for audio. This will mainly contain soundseeing tours, but anything is welcomed.
Clock:
We are currently testing out an idea that me and another of our team thought of - Speaking Clock for Skype. This is very similar to calling the speaking clock on the phone, but our services are free, unlimited, and available from any country.
As there seems to be no way of logging in to two skype accounts at a time, we may need volunteers to download skype and host the clock.
Donations:
We are now accepting donations. This of course is optional, and can be accessed from the main page.
Custom Software:
We are now offering custom software development. This could be one of our current projects, or indeed a completely new idea.
Thanks.

Damien

Email groups now more accessible..
Well, long time since i've updated.
The X-Sight email lists are now more accessible. They have a message subject prefix now so you know which group a message is coming from, and you can now confirm your own subscription and not have to wait for confirmation from us that we will allow your subscription.
I am also working on providing a direct way through the website as well as through the ftp to upload files for submission on this site. I'll update as things progress.
Bomb Blaster is still under development, and will hopefully be starting beta testing by the end of this year. I'd've liked to have got more things done this year, but my transition year half held me back from that, and the worry of leaving my laptop behind. However, a new system has been ordered, so X-Sight now owns a system rather than borrows one! Yippee!
The msn account for the X-Sight team should be activated tonight, been busy revising for my music tech exam, which didn't go well in the first place anyway, but we won't go there.
Anyone wishing to contact X-Sight support can now contact through msn at x-sight@andrelouis.com.
I'm also working on getting my own domain, won't be until at least september, but I see the possibility approaching now.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me. X-Sight questions please msn x-sight@andrelouis.com, emails can still go to any address. If you just wish to chat personally, you can still add sadlerman@randylaptop.com to your messenger and chat to me.
Thanks.

a new dectalk file on the comedy section.
hello ladies, hello gents.
support has been added to the dectalk section. this really demonstrates a jerk who knows nothing about computers, and this will make you laugh.
it's a shame i know not who submitted it, so if the submitter sees this, please contact me so i can put their name in the credits. cory sharp was the one that gave it to me but someone else created it for submission.
thanks.

Personal webpages being hosted!.
Well, we're here once again with a few updates.
As the subject says, we are now hosting personal webpages for people who don't have any. At the moment, this service is free.
Aside from that, the development of Bop It Extreme, now referred to as X-BeepBop, has returned.
The game once written in AutoIt, Chopper Challenge, is now using VB6 and DirectX. This will be released shortly also.
Thanks, and be sure to visit the personal pages section.

not much updating this week.
hi guys.
just letting you know that i won't be updating much, if at all this week, as the internet at our house is being switched off at regular intervals, thanks to a hacker, or bunch of hackers, who hacked a trogeon horse onto my mom's computer, which had some important work of hers on it.
as always, the minority spoils it for the majority, so sorry guys, but next week i'll be back at worcester and free to use the internet as my daily friend again.
if you have any questions, drop me an email, as i won't be able to be on skype or messenger much.

updates.
hi there!
programs that were once being made are being delayed, such as bomb blaster, minimedia, chopper challenge, production sounds manager, bop it extreme and who wants to be a millionaire.
the millionaire i still haven't got permission for releasing yet, not to mention there's still a great deal more code to sort out, but all these delays are thanks to a broken comaudio on the management system.
alarm manager has also had to change its audio methods, as it used comaudio to provide reliable looping.
however, joseli walter, deputy manager for x-sight now, is making a smaller alarm program called uplift, which plays the alarm then displays a nice, encouraging message.
in addition, you can add your own niceties in there.
as for the software that is still currently in progress, phonebook is now in the stages of beta testing (thanks toonhead and kelly sapergia), and should be ready for release shortly.
music machine has been updated to version 1.1, with a basic recording facility.
the orpheus scripter is having problems because of supernova not working on the system, but that should be sorted in good time, we don't even know what's wrong with comaudio but we have some idea what's going on with supernova.
some new music will come up on this site rather shortly, and a few more text updates on the pages where necessary.
so in all, a lot is being done around here!!!!!!
well, await the arrival of a few projects.

damien

however, my great grandmother, marion terrington, died at Oldem Royal hospital at the age of 93, and although this is a very good age to live to, me and my family are still rather low down, as we all miss her.
i must thank joseli walter for putting up the lovely little page she did and taking all the emails for me, not that i got many nice ones, but thanks to the one person that did actually email me.
anyway, i have some new software and new music on the way, i'm halfwaty to getting the status page back up and working again, so yea for that.

phonebook 2.0 news.
phonebook 2.0 is coming along nicely. it is nearly ready for release, just need to touch up on a few things on the programming side, clean up the documentation, and make the installer.
as other news is concerned, i have no information that chopper challenge has been released as of yet. as this isn't my project, i shall speak to the guys involved in this. I JUST WISH THEY'D TELL ME THINGS!!!!!!
anyway, hope the software on there isn't boring you at present. PSM has had to go for a while, as i've had problems with the installer, so then i find there is a problem with comaudio, the library it uses.
i shall try to get that fixed as soon as possible and have it up and public once more.
please do keep the suggestions and comments coming, whether it be a bug, a complaint, what you like, what you don't like, suggestions for future developments, whatever whatever whatever.

well, hi guys..
indeed. hi guys.
the bad news is, i am not in the reach of a wireless network for a while now, except in the main building which i am now sitting. therefore i am very angry with the place and cannot release anything as of yet. on that note, i wish i had some good news to balance out the bad, but i'm afraid at present i don't. when the staff actuallty listen to me and put me back in the range of a fantastic wireless network, i can skype, read and reply to emails, download, upload, update and other internet related things as fast as i could before i came back to this dump of a place. and yes, i do think it is a dump without a network.
well, i'll try get back when i can. hope things are going well your end.

life at x-sight.
well, life is pretty hectic at the moment. what with packing to return to worcester after a long, drawn-out summer holiday, and sorting things out, i'm finding errors all over my programs, as i'm rushing to try and get them released for specified dates. however, i now realise that this is not possible.
therefore, minimedia's target date has changed to monday, september 18, 2006. also, the updated phonebook now has a target release date of sunday, september 10, 2006.
the alarm manager still doesn't have a target release date, although the program is slowly coming along.
as for bomb blaster, we now have new software developers in to help, or should we say, former software developers reappointed and we now have at least another enthusiastic worker in our midst, which means we can get software developed at least a bit quicker than is currently the case.

a lot of updates.
well guys, there's a lot to get through here.
1. the status update page is temporarily and successfully broken - i can't do anything with it but watch it increase the time since i was mad at the hit counter - so now, as you can probably guess, i'm mad at the status updater too, until it's fixed again.
2. a lot is being done at x-sight, so target release dates may take longer than expected.
here are the current projects being worked on:
a. bop it extreme
b. updating phonebook
c. updating timer
d. updating planner
e. dj distortion's king of the decks
f. rifle shooting game
g. bomb blaster
h. alarm manager
i. minimedia
because of all the above, i've no idea which one will be released first or last, when or how, for now at least.
if you have any questions, please, as always, feel free to contact me. the comments page is up and working again ...
also the topspeed page is reasonably damaged, so won't be working until i have time to fix it.
most of the cars and tracks on that page can be found at

Hi hi hi!
Well, a new piece of software is being worked on, as well as our games and alarm manager. We are working on minimedia, a small but nice little playlist editor and media player. Won't be as complex as winamp or pulse mp3, but certainly a little, or maybe a lot in some cases, useful.
This shouldn't take too long to code. target date next wednesday. That's wednesday september 6, 2006.

site rearrangement in progress.
well, as you can see, the news page has again reset, but the hits i managed to keep. the gameplay page is still being transferred, so some options may not work on that.
the rest of the site should work again though, not many users will notice much difference, except a few added or missing links here and there.
the main thing that's changed is the directory structure - so the urls will be different for various things.
as for other updates i'm hoping to start internet radio, depending on learning how to do it and whether it is feasible on this server.
the alarm manager is coming along nicely, and will be freeware, for now at least.
the ddm, for those who missed it, has a patch on the software page, up and available for download. it fixes a bug in one of the vocal effects. thanks to michael for spotting that one for me.

damien.
